It’s that time of the year again. We go back to our favourite route between Lanseria and O.R Tambo International Airports, but this time we are running it in reverse. Yes; we are running it the other way around. The UP RUN. Join us again for this exiting, tough and EPIC 48km LSD Social Run between two South African international entry points. When: 01 December 2018 Distance: 48km Cost: R150 (for transport and refreshments) Meeting point: A: Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport, Jones Road, O.R. Tambo, Johannesburg, 1627 C: S -25.943458, E 27.909973 T: Check-In opens at 04:00am. D: Bus leaves at 05:20am Start time: 06:00am (Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport) Download "PICTURES" Description: All runners will meet at the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo parking. The hotel has reserved their back parking for us. Runners to check-in at the meeting point before boarding the bus to the starting point. (Lanseria International Airport). Transport will only be available in the morning before the run at the check-in point, transporting runners from Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport to Lanseria International Airport. On arriving at the start, we will have a quick 10 minute's warm-up and a short run brief before the run starts. We DO NOT recommend that you park at the starting point, even if you have organised you own transport to transport you back to your car after the run. The route is a tough UP run, good enough to give you an idea of the Comrades Marathon Up Run. We have mobile water points every 3km and a rescue vehicle from 25km. Some sections of this route have inadequate/ limited running space, so please wear something reflective or bright colours, something that would be clearly visible to motorist. Please respect the rules of the road at all time and be prepared to run on the dirt on the side of the road to give way to cars. This will be an easy LSD run from 6'00"/km to +8'00"/km.
