Join us for this EPIC 48km LSD Social Run between two South African international entry points, O.R Tambo and Lanseria International Airports. When: 09 December 2017 Distance: 48km and 24km Cost: R150 (for transport and refreshments) Meeting point: A: Lanseria Centre, Pelindaba Road (R512), Lanseria, Johannesburg C: S -25.943458, E 27.909973 T: Check-In opens at 04:00am. Bus leaves at 05:20am for both 48km 24km runners. Start time: 48km and 24km = 06:00am (Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport) Description: All runners to meet at the entrance of Lanseria Centre (Culinary Table). The Culinary Table has reserved secure parking for us, with a security guard dedicated to looking after our cars for the duration of the run. Runners to quickly check-in at the meeting point before boarding the bus to the starting points, Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport. Transport will only be available in the morning before the run at the check-in point, transporting runners from Lanseria Centre to Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport. On arriving at the start, we will have a quick 10 minute's warm-up and a short run brief before the run starts. We DO NOT recommend that you park at the starting point, even if you have organised your own transport to transport you back to your car after the run. The swiping vehicle will transport the 24km runners from the 24km mark to the finish at Lanseria Centre, thereafter it will continue supporting struggling runners. The route is an easy down run, designed for people who've never ran this distance before. We have mobile water points every 3km and a rescue vehicle from 24km. Some sections of this route have inadequate/ limited running space, so please wear something reflective or bright colours, something that would be clearly visible to motorist. Please respect the rules of the road at all time and be prepared to run on the dirt on the side of the road to give way to cars. This will STRICTLY be an easy LSD run 6'00"/km to +8'00"/km. You have to select a preferred pace when signing up. Group 1 = (6'00"/km to 6'30"/km), Group 2 = (6'30"/km to 7'00"/km), Group 3 = (7'00"/km to 7'30"/km) and Group 4 = (7'30"/km to the last runner). Take it easy, it's not a race, don't push yourself too hard, you should still be able to take cute selfies 😉 anytime during the run. We will have a connect session after the run, bring camp chair and BOB for a chillas after the run.
